MATE’s mission is to use marine technology to create interest in and improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education and to provide the marine technical workforce with well-educated professionals.
The Mate Rover competition is a competition were students design underwater robots to simulate real life marine robotic applications. The team has competed in this competition for three years now. MATE is a different type of competition compared to the other land based robot’s we design and challenges us to think differently then we normally do. Most of the challenges are based on real world events and give us a new perspective on robotic applications.
